Network Manager
We are looking for Network Manager for a well-respected healthcare client in Washington D.C.
Job Description
- Manages the activities of the Network team.
- Coordinates and documents system downtime procedures and policies.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of operating and capital budgets; prepares information to complete purchase orders and CAR s.
- Maintains on-call scheduled. Coordinates scheduling of resources to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, and problems.
- Conducts effective performance evaluations.
- Establishes course of action for self and others to accomplish a specific goal in concert with organizational objectives
- Mentors new staff
- Responsible for employee matters, which include staff selection, management, and development
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
- Asses and communicate risks associated with technology related requests, projects, Investments and purchases.
- Ensure maximum availability and performance of infrastructure and systems through oversight of service level agreements and proactive monitoring of systems.
- Extracts and analyzes data from several sources and/or systems to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
- Maintains systems and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, SOX) and security and privacy policies and standards.
- In collaboration with the IT leadership, responsible for the development of both long and short-range goals for the department and services that are consistent with goals and objectives of the organization; ensures implementation of plans and the meeting of goals; and measures compliances in collaboration with administration
- Provides technical direction for the development, design and integration of systems and solutions.
- Align technology vision with business strategy by integrating company processes with the appropriate technologies
- Creatively and independently provide resolution to technical problems in a cost-effective manner.
Technical Duties
- Maintains existing systems, while providing direction in all technology-related issues in support of information operations and organizational strategies.
- Direct deployment and execution of enterprise wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
- Responsible for data center and collaborates with others regarding communication closets and switch room.
- Administration and maintenance of mission critical hardware and systems.
- Define requirements for technology implementations and establish and maintain networking and technical standards for the organization.
- Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service and performance.
- Remains at the forefront of emerging industry practices.
- Participates as needed on UHS Information Services projects for the purpose of analyzing, evaluating, researching, and implementing new systems.
- Manages support contracts and vendor relationships as appropriate.
- Performs other tasks as required by management.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems with a minimum of 10 years of related experience including supervisory responsibilities. Master s Degree preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting network problems and providing solutions
- Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications preferred.
- Experience and/or working knowledgeable of VPN, MPLS, Cloud, IPSEC satellite technology, routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, servers, cables, racks, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, VoIP, internet, configuration management and data centers.
- Experience in a healthcare institution preferred
