Senior Network Engineer
We are looking for Senior Network Engineer for a well-respected healthcare client in Washington D.C.
Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, test and evaluate enterprise network systems, including local area networks, wireless networks, wide area networks, intranets and the Internet.
- Implement complex hardware and software upgrades to meet capacity requirements.
- Analyze and rectify complex faults on the network to meet defined service levels serving as primary investigator for such network issues.
- Support network investigation/performance routines to ensure network availability.
- Liason with 3rd parties, customers and site providers to ensure completion of tasks.
- Conduct technology research on products, recommend software and hardware and security requirements.
- Plan and support network design and computing infrastructure requirements.
- Plan strategically and implement future IT developments and undertake project work.
- Analyze and evaluate systems, think critically, solve complex problems.
- Assists with the development and compliance of operating and capital budgets; prepares information to complete purchase orders and CARs.
- Manages workload in accordance with guidelines and priorities
- Serve as an escalation point for Engineers, Network Systems Administrators, and Technical Support specialist.
- Serves as primary contact for biomedical device integration and issue investigation and resolution.
- Serves as point person in the absence of the manager or as needed.
- Performs on-call duty providing off-hour support for network or other support issues, as necessary.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
- 10 years of related experience
- Master's Degree Preferred
- Experience troubleshooting network problems and providing solutions
- CCNP required
- MCITP preferred
- Experience and/or working knowledgeable of VPN, MPLS, Cloud, IPSEC satellite technology, routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, servers, cables, racks, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, VoIP, internet, configuration management and data centers.
- Experience in a healthcare institution preferred

- Ability to troubleshoot complicated technology issues.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools suite, MS Project, and Visio.
